The artwork of Kevin Wilhite
Local Sacramento Artist
Kevin Wilhite
I get my artistic ideas from growing up in the country in Central Valley. Tractors and car shows left a big mark on how I see things. I got my graphic design degree from Sacramento State in 2007, and my art has changed a lot since then.
In 2013, I started a cool painting series all about neon signs on Route 66. It’s got a bright and clear style. Now, my art has a more chill vibe. I use a palette knife and bold strokes, kinda like impressionism.
My latest thing is the “Sweet on the Eye” series. I teamed up with Gunther’s Ice Cream, a famous spot in Sacramento, to make paintings of ice cream cones. It’s a fun project that captures this local landmark’s sweet and nostalgic vibe.
